French is an official language of twenty nine countries across different continents, most of which are members of the organization international de la Francophone, a community of eighty four countries which shares the official use or teaching of French in their institutions. This language is the fourth most widely spoken mother tongue in the European Union. Statisticians estimate French to have seventy six millions native speakers. French has a long history to be en international language of literature and scientific standards as is primarily a second language of several international languages including; United Nations, Northern Atlantic Treaty Organization, the World Trade Organization and also the International Olympic Committee. Stated under the France Constitution, French has been the official language of the Republic since one thousand nine hundred and ninety two. France government has mandates the use of French language in the every official publications made in France, public education except in some special cases, legal contracts; where advertisements must bear translation of all foreign words. In Belgium French is the official language of Wallonia and one among the two languages along with Dutch of the Brussels Capital Region.


To polish your pronunciation in French capability there are two ways you can acquire a good pronunciation, these include; first, always repeat the words, make it a habit until you get it right. Secondly, go to your friends, who speak in French and start a conversation in French, this will help you master the language. Make sure if you hear of a new word from friend, you ask them about the meaning. You can also look for audios and videos from the internet, and listen to them, by this you will be able to know the correct pronunciation of some words, You can record you're your French audio and compare it with the one you have downloaded from the internet. This will help you know where you have made mistakes for the purpose of corrections. Never be afraid to speak to yourself or friends in French, it is the only way you will know if you are making progress. Be consistent in your practice, and trust me, you will make it.


Some of French pronunciation rules include; the French R, to pronounce it you will have to use your throat, do it as if you are trying to gargle, so as to find the place in your throat, you have to be gargling from, make a "K" sound, then pronounce the sound while your throat is closed. The French sound of silence, some letters for example "e", is silent when they are used to construct a word. The best way to get this silent letter down is by getting familiar which ending are pronounced versus which are no pronounced. Some of the sounds not pronounced at the end of the sentence include; p, n, m, t, x, z, s and also g.
